Aristocrats

http://www.paintinghere.com/uploadpic/Federico%20Andreotti/big/A%20Tender%20Moment%20in%20the%20Garden.jpg

No real theme for today's post. I've just rounded up some of the names I encountered in doing research for work that sparked my interest. Since I seem to spend my life reading about and researching aristocrats, it should come as no surprise that the names below are of men and women from the British elite.

Boys

Valerian

Lowthian

Lewin

Berkeley

Sylvain

Amelius

Lupus

Lyulph

Wray

Rollo

Hew

Taddeo

I think it's interesting that there are more masculine names that seem to step out of the traditional and classic. It's a trend that I've encountered when looking at eighteenth and nineteenth century sources. Sometimes a woman's name will pop up that is unusual and offbeat, but I've found that they come in small quantities compared to their male counterparts.
